LUSAIL INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT

Located a short distance north of Doha in Lusail, Qatar, the Lusail International Circuit is a central hub for international motorsport events, featuring prominent series like Formula 1 and MotoGP.

Established in 2004 primarily for motorcycle competitions, this 5.419-kilometer track has evolved into a crucial venue for automobile racing as well. The circuit's main straight stretches over a kilometre, setting the stage for high-speed action and intense competitions.

Launched at Lusail International Circuit in 2021, the Qatar Grand Prix entered the Formula One scene as a replacement for the Australian Grand Prix, which was cancelled due to the pandemic. This inaugural event marked Qatar's premiere in hosting a Formula One race, featuring Lewis Hamilton as the winner followed closely by Max Verstappen.

In 2022, the Grand Prix was put on hold because of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, but it made a comeback in 2023 under a decade-long agreement, ensuring its presence on the Formula One schedule for the coming years. Distinctly, the race is one of the select full-night events in the Formula One roster, providing a visually striking setting for the intense racing action.
